We treat the personal data of those visiting this website and of our Card holders with the greatest care. This Privacy Statement explains how we do this.

About this Privacy Statement

By visiting our websites or using our apps you accept the Privacy Statement of International Card Services (ICS). Each time you visit our websites or use our apps, the Privacy Statement in force at that moment applies to you. We are authorized to amend this Privacy Statement. Please, read the Privacy Statement every time you visit these websites and use these apps, in order to be sure that you agree to its contents.

Responsibility ICS

With regard to the processing of personal data we are the responsible party within the meaning of the Dutch Personal Data Protection Act (in Dutch: Wet bescherming persoonsgegevens). We shall use your personal data in accordance with and for the purposes set forth in the Code of Conduct for the Processing of Personal Data by Financial Institutions (in Dutch: Gedragscode Verwerking Persoonsgegevens Financiële Instellingen).

Using your personal data

When you apply for or use any of our products, or visit the website, we shall use your data to:

  • assess and accept the application;
  • execute the agreement;
  • perform national and international payment transactions;
  • carry out analyses for statistical and research purposes;
  • ensure the safety and integrity of the national and international financial sector, which includes combating, preventing and tracing criminal activities, as well as any attempts thereof;
  • comply with our statutory obligations;
  • send you information about products, services and special promotions. For that purpose we may analyse your personal data, the data in connection with the use of your Card and the type and number of the services provided to you. If you do not wish to receive this information, you may inform us free of charge by writing to Antwoordnummer 1110, 1110 VB Diemen.

When you use the app, we shall use your data to:

  • execute the agreement;
  • provide access to the app;
  • enable you to inspect your statement of account and other personal data;
  • create e-codes within the context of the Card transactions;
  • carry out analyses for statistical and research purposes;
  • ensure the safety and integrity of the national and international financial sector, which includes combating, preventing and tracing criminal activities, as well as any attempts thereof;
  • comply with our statutory obligations.

Information about your financial situation

When you apply for a Card or a Running Account, a credit check will be performed. To do so, we shall consult the central credit registration office (Bureau Krediet Registratie) in Tiel (BKR). This register and/or registers of commercial information agencies may also be consulted during the agreement. We shall do this, if we should feel we have a reasonable interest in doing so, for example if you apply for a change of your credit limit or in the case of payment arrears.

Insurance

Your Card is provided with credit card-related insurance. For the purpose of giving effect to the insurance agreements we may pass your data on to the insurance company or companies responsible within the meaning of the law, on privacy and otherwise.

Security

We attach great importance to the protection of your personal data. We store and process your personal data in systems which are both physically and technically secured. We also make use of physical, electronic and procedural security measures, aimed at keeping your personal data safe. This includes sophisticated firewall and password protection of our databases, physical access control systems for our premises and databases and access to your personal data by authorized employees only.

Telephone conversations

Telephone conversations with you may be recorded for employee training and assessment purposes or for the purpose of recording evidence.
